SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Host Le Moyne got out to a 15-4 lead in the opening eight minutes today and never trailed to upend The College of Saint Rose 71-57 in the latest edition of the Upstate Challenge series. In the process, the Dolphins (16-8/13-6 NE10) improved to 8-2 at home.
 
Freshman forward 
Sekou Sylla recorded his sixth double-double of the year to lead the Golden Knights (9-17/6-13 NE10). Sylla finished with 16 points, behind 7-for-14 shooting, and 11 rebounds; while senior forward 
Matt Cerutti and freshman guard 
Tyler Washington tossed in 12 and 10 points respectively.
 
Junior forward Tom Brown led four Le Moyne players in double-figures with 19 points and nine boards, while fellow junior forward Kobi Nwandu finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Senior guard C.J. Asuncion-Byrd and sophomore guard Tim Leavell added 13 and 10 points respectively.
 
Looking ahead, both squads are in action Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. The Golden Knights host Pace University for Senior Night in what will be their season finale, while the Dolphins visit New Haven. The Saint Rose game may be viewed on

Notes: Washington has been in double-figures scoring in each of the last four games games…He has averaged 14.8 points during that span after averaging 2.7 points during the first 22 games of the season…Cerutti has been in twin-figures in 22 of the squad's 26 contests…All nine players who participated this afternoon saw at least 10 minutes of playing time.
