WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Host New Haven outscored The College of Saint Rose 11-0 throughout the final 3:43 to upend the Golden Knights 68-57 in Northeast-10 Conference action this afternoon. Saint Rose had just four attempts from the foul line and was outscored 12-3 from the stripe throughout the afternoon.

Freshman guard
Cartier Bowman scored a season-high 18 points and also pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Golden Knights (3-6/0-4 NE10). Senior guard
Adam Anderson finished with 12 points, while freshman forward
Josh McGettigan recorded eight points and a career-best eight boards throughout 26 minutes off the bench.

Senior guard Elijah Bailey tossed in a game-high 28 and senior forward Kessly Felizor contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead New Haven.

The game was close throughout the initial 36 minutes with eight ties and six lead changes.

Saint Rose closed the first half strong with an 8-0 run that afforded the Golden Knights a 32-28 halftime lead. Bowman did all of the damage by scoring inside, finishing a fast break with a dunk, and knocking down a pair of jumpers.

The Golden Knights eventually boosted their advantage to 10 points, 46-36, with 11:03 to go after Anderson converted a three-point play. However, the Chargers cut their deficit to three points on four occasions throughout the ensuing six minutes and went ahead for good after Bailey knocked down a pair of free throws.

Looking ahead, both squads return to the hardwood Tuesday. Saint Rose is back home to face Southern Connecticut State in the second half of a league doubleheader. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm following the women's 5:30 pm game. Meanwhile, New Haven heads to Springfield to face American International.
