SAINT ROSE FALLS AT SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE

MANCHESTER, N.H. - The College of Saint Rose fell 70-45 at Southern New Hampshire tonight. Junior guard Courtney Clasen led the Golden Knights (10-8/3-8 NE10) with 12 points.

Southern New Hampshire (11-7/5-6 NE10), which made 13 three-pointers in the Northeast-10 Conference game, had four players in twin figures. Senior forward Kylie Lorenzen led the way with a "double-double" of 15 points and 11 rebounds. Junior guard Karlee Ziliak also had 15 points for the Penmen, who improved to 9-2 at home.

After an tightly-contested start, Southern New Hampshire began the second period with an 18-8 run to open up a double-digit lead. The Penmen, which went 5-of-7 from beyond the arc in the stanza, outscored the Golden Knights 21-12 in the period to grab ia 36-24 halftime lead. The hosts then netted the first nine points after the break to increase control.

Saint Rose made things interesting though, trimming the deficit to 10, 50-40, with 8:15 left. Southern New Hampshire responded with an 10-0 outburst across the next 3:22 to double its advantage. The jaunt was part of a 20-2 Penmen run that removed all doubt.

NE10 play continues on Saturday at 1:30 pm. Saint Rose travels to Worcester, Mass. to play Assumption. Fans that are that are unable to attend the game can follow all the action live on NE10 Now or follow along with live stats. Southern New Hampshire has a road contest at American International.
