NYIT (6-1) used a 7-0 run to take the opening set, before overcoming a late Golden Knight second set advantage. Saint Rose was able to stave off elimination with an extra time third set victory. The stanza featured 14 ties. The Golden Knights pushed hard for a fifth and decisive set, taking a 23-22 lead, but NYIT, an NCAA Tournament squad last fall, tallied the final three points to wrap it up.
