ALBANY, N.Y. – The College of Saint Rose split today's non-league doubleheader at Bob Bellizzi Field by taking the opener 12-5, before falling 7-4 in the nightcap to Saint Joseph, Vt.

The Golden Knights (17-21) scored in all but the first inning in the matinee as freshman catcher
Samuel Brioso and senior shortstop
Mark Powell drove in three runs apiece. Also, sophomore second baseman
Patrick LaDouce finished 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored.

Joe Foran, senior right fielder
Michael Shine, and junior left fielder
Kenny Fils-Aime all had two hits apiece. Sophomore right-hander
John Braun tossed 2.0 innings of no-hit ball in relief to pick up the win.

Junior left fielder Benny Pena went 2-for-3 for the Fighting Saints (13-32).

In the nightcap, Saint Joseph scored three times in the first and broke open a 3-2 ballgame by pushing across four runs in the fourth.

Junior right fielder
Alexander Koshgarian went 2-for-4 and drove in a run to propel Saint Rose. Junior second baseman Jedion Cras finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI to lead the visitors.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is scheduled to close out its regular-season campaign with a three-game home series versus NE10 rival Southern Connecticut State this weekend. Friday's game is set for 4:00 pm, while Saturday's Senior Day doubleheader is scheduled to get underway at noon.
