MANCHESTER, N.H. - The College of Saint Rose put four players in double figures scoring in tonight's 75-62 Northeast-10 Conference Championship first-round loss at Southern New Hampshire. The Golden Knights, the fifth seed out of the Southwest Division, cut what was a 15-point fourth period deficit to five with 2:37 left before falling.

Junior guard
Ashley Vanderwall led Saint Rose (10-17) with 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting. Sophomore guard
Takora McIntyre added a career-high 13 points, junior forward
Karissa Birthwright tossed in 11, and junior guard
Isa Vara de Rey totaled 10.
Â
Southern New Hampshire (17-11) received a "double-double" of 26 points and 16 rebounds from junior forward Kylie Lorenzen. The third-leading scorer in the NE10 went 11-of-19 from the field. Senior guard Jennifer Shelp added 14 points, while junior guard Brianna Camara had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Â
The Penmen, the fourth seed from the Northeast Division, scored 10 of the first 12 second quarter points to take a 32-24 lead into the locker room. Vanderwall had 10 of her points in the opening two periods, while Lorenzen totaled 10 first half points and was a rebound shy of a "double-double" at the break.
Â
The hosts used 28 total offensive rebounds and 19-6 and 19-9 runs to take control. Saint Rose, which shot 23-for-49 (46.9 percent) from the field, responded with a 19-9 fourth period run of its own to make it a 67-62 game with 2:37 left. However, a pair of Lorenzen layups sandwiched around a Golden Knights turnover boosted the Southern New Hampshire advantage back to double-digits.
Â
The Penmen will visit Southern Connecticut State Sunday for an NE10 Championship Quarterfinal.
