GOLDEN KNIGHTS FALL IN HEARTBREAKING FASHION AT #8 FRANKLIN PIERCE IN NE10 SEMIFINAL

RINDGE, N.H.-The College of Saint Rose rallied from a 5-3 deficit in the final 20 minutes of regulation only to fall 6-5 in overtime to host Franklin Pierce in today's Northeast-10 Conference Championship Semifinal. The contest featured a pair of ties, three lead change, 40 shots, and 21 shots-on-goal.

The Ravens (14-1-2), ranked #8 in this week's United Soccer Coaches National Poll, will now host Assumption in Sunday's Championship Final. The sixth-seed Greyhounds advanced with this afternoon's 2-0 win at second-seed Southern New Hampshire. Meanwhile, Saint Rose will await its NCAA Championship Tournament fate. Bids will be announced Monday evening.

Senior midfielder Nathalia Maria da Silva provided the decisive goal. da Silva collected a pass from senior forward Bruna Tavares that she deposited home from 12-yards out only 2:16 into the extra session.

Junior forward Nina Predanic had two goals and an assist, freshman forward Kaelyn Britt scored twice, and junior midfielder Morgan Burchhardt had a goal and set up a pair to propel the Saint Rose (13-4-3) offense.

Freshman back Cristina Barbellido put Franklin Pierce (14-1-2) up a mere 2:56 into the contest, but the Golden Knights scored three unanswered goals on the way to a 3-2 halftime lead. Burchhardt twice set up Britt and junior midfielder Eva Frazzoni delivered a ball up the left side that Predanic finished from the top of the area with less than three minutes remaining until intermission.

However, junior forward Veronica Marques ricocheted a shot off a Saint Rose defender only 55 seconds later to bring Franklin Pierce to within a goal at the break.

da Silva, Marques, and freshman midfielder Jessica Magerman then struck in succession to afford the Ravens a 5-3 advantage at the 62:30 mark.

Saint Rose held its ground though as Burchhardt cut the deficit to one after she knocked home a long Predanic pass from the right side of midfield. The latter then deadlocked it 5-5 by beating a defender on the right side, before driving home a shot inside the left post with just less than 10 minutes remaining to bring about overtime.
