ALBANY-The College of Saint Rose dictated pace for most of a wet and overcast evening only to come out with a 0-0 draw versus visiting Roberts Wesleyan tonight.
Â
The Golden Knights (1-0-1) engineered an 18-7 shot advantage and a 5-3 corner kick differential throughout the contest.
Â
Their most dangerous threat came with 1:38 elapsed in the first overtime session when sophomore forward
Nina Predanic let go a strike from the left flank that banged directly off the far post.
Â
In the first minute of the second extra session, sophomore midfielder
Caitlyn Dabagian made a well-timed run onto a nifty loft from senior back
Totianyu Guadalupe, but her shot sailed over the cross bar.
Â
Saint Rose previously made a furious attack within a one minute span at the end of regulation when the Golden Knights manufactured three shots, only to come up empty in what foreshadowed the eventual outcome.
Â
Between the posts, sophomore
Marika Laurendeau registered all five of her saves after halftime while sophomore Kelsey Brinkel came up three saves for the Redhawks (1-2-1).
Â
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights open the Northeast-10 Conference portion of their schedule with a 3:00 pm home date versus Stonehill this Saturday. The Saint Rose men's squad will then face Queens at 6:00 pm. Meanwhile, the Redhawks host Tiffin University (Ohio) Friday at 7:00 pm in Rochester.
