ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose women's basketball team never trailed in its 69-58 home
Northeast-10 Conference win over Adelphi on Wednesday evening. The Golden Knights (5-3/3-3 NE10), which led by as many as 19, were paced by junior guard
Isa Vara de Rey. She went 10-of-11 from the line as part of a 17-point effort. Vara de Rey added five assists, four rebounds, two steals and a block.

Junior guard
Ashley Vanderwall totaled 10 of her 11 points in the first half as the Golden Knights led 35-22 at intermission. The home team made 47.1 percent of its first half shots and 41.1 percent in the game.

"The first half was probably the best 20 minutes of basketball we played all year," said head coach
Karen Haag. "I loved the toughness and poise our team showed tonight. We played really hard and did a great job of handling Adelphi's pressure."

The Panthers (4-6/2-3 NE10) used a 17-6 run to cut the Saint Rose lead to 50-45 with 7:28 remaining. Consecutive layups by sophomore guards
Takora McIntyre and
Cameron Graupman got it back to nine. From there, Adelphi could get no closer than seven.

Sophomore guard Fallyn Stephens made seven three-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Senior forward Natalie Fekula added nine points and seven rebounds for the Panthers.

The Saint Rose post duo of juniors
Zoe McDonald and
Karissa Birthwright grabbed 10 rebounds apiece. McDonald blocked a pair of Adelphi shot attempts as well.
McIntyre set career-bests of eight points and three steals for the Golden Knights, which host #19 Saint Thomas Aquinas on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Adelphi has a Saturday afternoon NE10 game at American International.
