GOLDEN KNIGHTS CHALK UP FIFTH SHUTOUT

COLCHESTER, VT-The College of Saint Rose scored twice in the second half to chalk up its fifth shutout of the year with today's 2-0 victory at Northeast-10 Conference rival Saint Michael's (3-4-1/2-4-0 NE10).

Junior midfielder Julianne Johnston and freshman midfielder Myah Hughes both scored their first goals in a Golden Knights (8-1-1/7-1-0 NE10) uniform to lead the charge. Meanwhile, sophomore keeper Marika Laurendeau recorded three saves throughout 86 minutes of action, before giving way to fellow sophomore Chloe Borasky.

Saint Rose developed a 20-4 shot advantage and a 12-1 corner kick differential on the way to its second straight victory.

Johnston tallied what proved to be the game-winner with a header in the 67th minute, while Hughes deflected home a rebound off a shot from sophomore forward Victoria Barris 18 minutes later.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose is back on the road Saturday with an 11:00 am NE10 encounter at Bentley in Waltham, Mass. Meanwhile, Saint Michael's has a 2:00 pm home game Thursday versus Assumption.
Notes: This was only the second of the Golden Knights 10 matches this fall that was not decided by one goal. The other came with a 0-0 draw versus Roberts Wesleyan back on September 6. Saint Rose has now outshot its opponents by a 172-90 margin on the year, including a 100-59 differential after halftime. The Golden Knights have also manufactured a 63-22 corner kick margin, including a staggering 26-1 advantage throughout their last three matches. Laurendeau currently leads the NE10 with a 0.889 save percentage and is second behind a 0.50 goals-against-average. Saint Rose stands second with a 0.57 team GAA.
