WATERBURY, CT-The College of Saint Rose was upended 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-21) at Post on Tuesday night despite a match-high 12 kills from senior outside hitter 
Maryellen Devic.
 
The Golden Knights held a lead on just three occasions throughout the three sets, despite keeping the margin tight, but could not keep pace with the Eagles. They were within three of the lead late in the opening frame but Post finished with four straight points to take a 1-0 lead.
 
In the second set, Post jumped out to an 11-3 advantage before Saint Rose battled to cut the differential to 21-19 following a kill by senior middle blocker
 Jennifer Gundrum. The hosts would then go on to score four of the next five points to take a 2-0 lead.
 
The Golden Knights trailed throughout the final set and again drew close late, cutting the lead to 21-18, but could not force a fourth game.
 
Gundrum finished with six kills, while sophomore setter 
Sam Kubik tallied 15 assists, four digs and two service aces.
Sophomore middle hitter 
Shayna Webber and junior middle hitter 
Maddy Halverson each totaled four kills and two blocks.
 
For the Eagles, senior middle hitter Skylar German notched 11 kills, eight digs, two aces, and a match-high six blocks.
 
Looking ahead, Saint Rose plays four non-league games on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11 in a tournament hosted by Daemen College. The Golden Knights begin play against Slippery Rock at 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
