SAINT ROSE USES BALANCED ATTACK TO CHALK UP 4-2 VICTORY AT FRANKLIN PIERCE

Five Student-Athletes Figure In The Scoring Column.

RINDGE, NH–Five different student-athletes figured in the scoring to help propel The College of Saint Rose to tonight's 4-2 victory at Northeast-10 Conference rival Franklin Pierce.

The host Ravens (4-3-2/2-3-2 NE-10) manufactured a 17-11 shot advantage although the Golden Knights (6-4/3-4 NE-10) were much more efficient with their opportunities. Saint Rose developed a 7-4 differential in threats-on-target and also developed a 6-5 corner kick disparity.

Freshman forward Nina Predanic recorded her team-leading 13th point of the year behind a pair of goals and an assist. Fellow freshman midfielder Deanna Trongone, senior forward Sammy Blizzard, and senior back Elisa Galbiati all found the back of the net as well, while freshman midfielder Victoria Barris helped set up Trongone's strike.

In goal, sophomore keeper Madison Taylor made both of her saves in the second period to help preserve the Saint Rose advantage.

Meanwhile, sophomore midfielder Bianca da Silva accounted for both Franklin Pierce goals with her first two strikes of the season.

Predanic and Trongone scored seven minutes apart in the early going to afford the Golden Knights a 2-1 halftime lead. Blizzard accounted for what proved to the game-winner and Galbiati added an insurance marker.

Predanic got the Golden Knights on the board when she curled a boot from the top of the area into the upper-left corner with 14:10 gone by. Barris then slipped a through pass that Trongone gathered and finished inside the right post. Da Silva cut the deficit in half for Franklin Pierce at the 28:58 juncture.

Blizzard later afforded Saint Rose its second, two-goal lead of the evening when she drove home a Predanic rebound with 57:46 expired. da Silva again got the Ravens to within one some nine minutes later, but Galbiati left little doubt about the eventual outcome when she jumped on a loose ball near the six-yard box with 71:46 elapsed.

Looking ahead, both teams have conference road dates Saturday. The Golden Knights have a 1:00 pm meeting at Assumption in Worcester, MA while Franklin Pierce has a noon encounter at Bentley in Waltham, MA.
Notes: Predanic has now registered at least one point in seven of the eight matches that she has appeared in...Galbiati's goal was her team-leading fifth of the year...Saint Rose has won its last 13 meetings versus the Ravens dating back to the 2008 campaign.
