EASTON, Mass.-The College of Saint Rose was locked in a 52-52 battle with 8:51 remaining Wednesday night, but allowed an 18-5 run over the following 6:33, as Stonehill College earned an 83-71 victory in a non-league contest at Paula Sullivan Court at Merkert Gymnasium.

Saint Rose (5-4) used a 10-2 run in the final 4:34 of the opening half to take a 31-30 lead heading into the locker room after trailing Stonehill (8-1) by as many as 10.

In the second half, the Skyhawks forced timely turnovers and used consistent shooting to take control late in the period.

Tyler Sayre led four Golden Knights in double-figures with 19 points on 8-of-12 (75.0 percent) shooting.Freshman forward
Pharroh Gordon shot 5-for-8 (62.5 percent), scored 12 points and collected a career-high nine rebounds. Freshman guard
Shane Herrity netted a season-best 10 points and tallied a season-high five assists and three rebounds. Senior guard
Max Weaver totaled 11 points and four rebounds, while sophomore guard
Mical-Ryan Boyd filled up the stat sheet with six points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Both teams shot well from the field as Saint Rose went 29-for-58 (50.0 percent) and 10-for-22 (45.5 percent) from three-point range, while Stonehill shot 26-for-53 (49.1 percent) overall and 13-for-27 (48.1 percent) from deep. The Skyhawks held a significant edge at the free throw line, converting 18-of-24 (75.0 percent), compared to just 3-of-6 (50.0 percent) for Saint Rose.

For Stonehill, senior guard Carter Smith recorded a game-high 20 points, while junior forward Jimmy Walsh and senior guard Adam Bramanti scored 17 and 16 points, respectively.
