WALTHAM, Mass. – Led by junior outside hitter Kelsey Lace's 11 kills and .526 attack percentage, The College of Saint Rose volleyball team defeated Bentley 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-11) in Northeast-10 Conference action, and secured a spot in the league Championship Tournament, Friday evening at the Dana Center.

The Golden Knights improved to 17-7 overall, and 9-4 in the NE-10, while the Falcons dropped to 15-10, 10-3.

Sophomore middle hitter Maryellen Devic followed just behind Lace with 10 kills. Senior setter Tori Daniels dished out 22 assists, sophomore middle hitter Jennifer Gundrum put up four blocks, and senior libero Katy Daniels dug up 13 Falcon attacks to anchor the Saint Rose defense.

The Golden Knights wrap up their regular season slate at Stonehill on Saturday, and await a seeding in the NE-10 Championship Tournament. Single-elimination play begins on Tuesday at the highest seeds.

Saint Rose currently ranks fifth in the overall league standings. The Golden Knights have suffered losses to New Haven and Adelphi, who sit second and tied for third, respectively. A win over Stonehill from, and a loss from Bentley to Le Moyne would put the Golden Knights in fourth. If the Falcons defeat the Dolphins, and Saint Rose wins over Stonehill, the Golden Knights will hold the No. 5 seed heading into the Tournament.

The Golden Knights held Bentley to just 15 points in set one, and used a game-high five-point run to seal the win. The Falcons registered 17 notches on the board in set two, but were upended by a pair of three-point spurts and a 4-0 run from Saint Rose en route a 2-0 overall lead.

Saint Rose jumped out to a large 14-5 lead in game three, and laid down two 5-0 runs to keep the falcons at a distance. The Golden Knights held Bentley to just six more points throughout the game as they secured the shutout.
