DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPION SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE UPENDS GOLDEN KNIGHTS


MANCHESTER, NH–Defending national champion and fifth-ranked Southern New Hampshire scored five times in the second half to upend The College of Saint Rose 7-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action tonight.
 
Junior midfielder Sebastian Strezewsski scored a pair of goals and set up another for the host Penmen (14-1-1/11-1-1 NE-10) who entered the evening off their lone loss of the year. Senior forward Joe Mahr scored unassisted to make it a 1-0 game with 18:54 elapsed and then set up senior midfielder Sofiane Tergou who converted what held up as the game-winner at the 26:36 mark.
 
Saint Rose then benefitted from an own goal in the final five minutes, before Southern New Hampshire scored twice in the opening 10 minutes of the second half to put itself in the driver's seat.
 
Junior keeper Colan Balkwell and sophomore Christian Esposito made seven saves collectively throughout the season-finale for the Golden Knights.
