Scott Warren stepped into an assistant coaching role in the spring of 2022 following a successful 10-year tenure directing The College of Saint Rose men’s and women’s golf programs.
A well-established coach and professional, Scott Warren was named the Head Men’s Golf Coach at Saint Rose in August 2012. Three years later, the College added a women’s golf program to which Warren was appointed as the head coach.
Throughout the course of Warren’s tenure, the men’s team has featured an individual Northeast-10 Conference Medalist (Corey Purcell ’17), a conference Rookie of the Year (Cullen Spang ’17), a 2016 NCAA Division II Championship individual regional bid (Corey Purcell ’17), and the program’s first-ever NCAA Division II Championship team invitation (2017).
Two years ago, the Golden Knights recorded the third best four-player team scoring average in program annals.
The women’s program is in its sixth year of team competition and had unprecedented success two years ago with a roster that featured three freshmen who all earned NE10 All-Conference honors. The Golden Knights also recorded their best finish ever with a third place showing at the league championship tournament.
In addition, the 2019-20 team removed nearly 20 strokes off its 18-hole tournament scoring average from three seasons ago and recorded 10 of the top 13 individual single-round scores in programs history.
From a broader perspective, Warren brings extensive experience as a PGA professional to the College. He spent 21-years at Pinehaven Country Club, where he served as the Head Golf Professional from 1999-2015, before being named the General Manger. He previously served as the Assistant Professional at Wolferts Roost Country Club in 1997 and 1998.
Warren was named the NENYPGA Golf Professional of the Year and was furthermore the recipient of that organization’s Bill Strausbaugh Award in 2011. He has been a Class A PGA Member since 1996 and previously served as the Honorary Past President of the Northeastern New York Section of the PGA of America.
