Butler wrapped up a fantastic championship season with a second place finish in the 3-meter diving competition at the 2012 Metropolitan Conference Championships. Butler scored a personal-best 370.50 points in the event. He also finished fourth on the 1-meter board. Butler posted a score of 311.15 in the preliminaries before following it up with a finals performance of 291.35.
