Brauer set five school records and was part of three school record setting relay teams on the way to being named Female Rookie of the Meet at the Metropolitan Conference Championships over the weekend. She twice bettered her own school standard in the 200-yard breaststroke. Brauer went 2:25.33 in a preliminary heat Sunday morning, and then swam a second place time of 2:22.96 in the final session. Also, her 100 split of 1:07.86 lowered her school standard in that event as well. On Saturday, Brauer broke her own school record in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:31.57 and thus for the second consecutive day reached an automatic qualifying standard for next month’s NCAA Championships. She previously won the 200 individual medley in a school record 2:07.12, again qualifying for the NCAA meet.
