DINWIDDIE, Va. – The College of Saint Rose concluded its weekend trip to Virginia with a pair of setbacks to an East Stroudsburg squad that has won five of its seven games to open the 2022 campaign.

Randall Alejo allowed three runs on three hits and fanned four in 4.0 innings of work for the Golden Knights (0-4) in the opener. Freshman left fielder
James Ward finished 2-for-3 and sophomore catcher
Derek Haughey belted an RBI double in the sixth to lead the offense.

Sophomore shortstop Jeremy Piatkiewicz smacked a three-run homer in the fourth to account for most of the Warriors' (5-2) damage.

In the finale, East Stroudsburg scored eight times in the fourth frame to break open a scoreless affair.

Ward had an RBI base hit in the fourth, while sophomore second baseman
Jared Reed, and sophomore pinch hitter
Josh Myers both doubled for Saint Rose.

For the Warriors, sophomore left fielder Ben Piripavel went 4-for-4 with three RBI and a solo home run.

Looking ahead, Saint Rose heads to East Stroudsburg next Friday and Saturday for the ESU Early Bird Classic. The Golden Knights will open up against Bloomfield in a 10:00 am doubleheader Friday, while the Warriors open against Clarion at 1:00 pm on Saturday.
