GOLDEN KNIGHTS EXTEND WIN STREAK TO FOUR MATCHES ON BEST BUDDIES NIGHT

ALBANY, N.Y. - The College of Saint Rose extended its win streak to four matches in efficient fashion with tonight's 2-0 victory against visiting Northeast-10 Conference foe Stonehill on Best Buddies Night.

The Golden Knights (6-4-2/5-2-1 NE10) scored their two goals in the opening four minutes of the second half after outshooting the Skyhawks 9-2 throughout the first stanza.

"Tonight was a good team win versus a tough and competitive Stonehill side. I thought we had some very good attacking sequences and managed the tempo well late in the game," said head coach John Ciano.

Freshman midfielder August Carl Jorius scored his first collegiate goal and freshman back Victor Boje Henriksen accounted for the second tally for Saint Rose, which controlled possession for 64.0 percent of the match.

Jorius positioned himself near the six-yard-line mark to deflect home a pass from sophomore midfielder Josh Elliott at the 46:52 juncture. Less than two minutes later, Henriksen headed home a corner from the middle of the area that was served by junior midfielder Harry Soederlind.

Freshman keeper Tomas Rozman recorded two saves, including one off the foot of Stonehill (5-7-1/2-5-1 NE10) sophomore forward Jacob Woznicki that was headed to the top right corner with 49:57 elapsed. Meanwhile, freshman back Lucas Malmquist, sophomore back Nick Koenig, and Henriksen limited the Skyhawks to seven shots throughout the picturesque autumn evening.

Looking ahead, both sides are in action with conference matches this weekend. The Golden Knights have a 6:30 pm date Friday at Bentley in Waltham, Mass. Meanwhile, Stonehill hosts top-ranked Franklin Pierce at 11:00 am Saturday.
Notes: The Golden Knights have a young squad with 25 underclassmen listed on their roster…Elliott has recorded a point in five consecutive matches…Henriksen paces the team with five goals…Koenig and Rozman were named to the NE10 weekly honor roll yesterday…Rozman leads all NE10 goalkeepers with an .897 save percentage and stands second behind a 0.46 goals-against-average...Saint Rose has not allowed a goal throughout its last 344:34 of play.
Best Buddies Night: The Golden Knights were joined by their Best Buddies for part of their warm-up and their starting lineup walkout.
