Stevie Schweitzer recorded 21 kills on .381 hitting as The College of Saint Rose swept Mercy in its home opener tonight. The Golden Knights (1-3) won by scores of 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21.

Senior middle hitter
Shayna Webber added nine kills on .474 hitting, while senior setter
Sam Kubik tallied a "double-double" of 36 assists and 10 digs.

Saint Rose got out to a 9-0 lead en route to taking the first set. After holding the Mavericks (2-2) to -.031 hitting in the second set, the Golden Knights erased a 20-18 deficit to complete the sweep.

Mercy received eight kills from sophomore outside hitter Leilani Vazquez and seven from senior middle hitter Kaitlyn Partridge, who hit .375.

Both teams have two matches on Saturday. Saint Rose heads to the Molloy Tournament to face the hosts at 10am and Post at noon. Mercy travels to Philadelphia to play American international and Chestnut Hill.
