College of Saint Rose Athletics

Michael Long, the first head coach for the Saint Rose men’s basketball program (1973-1986), is considered “the father of Saint Rose basketball”. He developed the program into one that dominated the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NAC) from 1977-1984, won five NAC titles and posted two consecutive undefeated seasons (1978-1980) in conference play.
