Ilze Auzina-Luneau is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-around women’s basketball players in school history. Auzina-Luneau graduated as the College’s all-time leader in both assists (466) and steals (365), and as its second all-time leading scorer (1,472) and rebounder (933). She was a Women’s Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-America selection in 1996-97, a four-time NYCAC All-League pick, and the NYCAC Rookie of the Year in 1993-94. Furthermore, she was twice honored as an ECAC, first team All-East selection. Auzina-Luneau was a part of three NYCAC championship squads and three NCAA Tournament teams while at Saint Rose. She also played a vital role on the 1996-97 club that won 29 consecutive games. A superlative student as well, Auzina-Luneau garnered first-team GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America® accolades in 1997 when she was also bestowed with the prestigious ECAC Robbins Scholar-Athlete Award. Additionally, she was twice honored as the NYCAC Academic Player of the Year.
