Gus Terry, the 2000 NCAA Northeast Regional MVP, helped lead Saint Rose to the NCAA Division II World Series that year. He was a first-team ABCA All-Northeast Region Pick as a junior and was an East Coast Conference first-team All-Conference pick in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He closed out his career tied for fifth all-time in school annals in wins (24). He also stands third all-time in strikeouts (277) and owns the ninth-best winning percentage (24-11; .686). His 17 complete games are the fourth-most (NCAA era) in school history, while his 3.88 ERA ranks seventh (NCAA era) all-time. He concluded a banner junior campaign with 110 strikeouts, which represents the second-highest single-season total, and opponents hit just .200 against him, which places him sixth in that category. He also holds two of the top-15 single-season win totals (nine in 1999; eight in 2000) in school history.
