Carmela Avellino, a 1993 graduate, was a dominating force as a member of softball teams that won 98 of 122 games (.803) throughout four seasons. She completed her career at Saint Rose with a 51-13 pitching record and set three school records with a 1.21 ERA, 451 strikeouts and 13 shutouts. Carm was named a GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American, the NYCAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the NYCAC MVP and was MVP of the ECAC Tournament in her senior year.
