Brian Zink, a 1992 graduate, was a standout in both  baseball and basketball at Saint Rose. The hard-throwing right-hander was named team MVP as a freshman when he went 9-1 with 56 strikeouts. He repeated as MVP as a sophomore when Saint Rose posted a 28-6 record. As a junior, Zink became the winningest pitcher in Saint Rose history with his 29th career victory and was an integral part of a team that advanced to the NAIA World Series in 1990. He finished his baseball career with pitching records for strikeouts (247) and wins (34). Brian also left his mark while playing on basketball teams that earned three conference titles and two trips to the NAIA National Tournament. He averaged 10.2 points as a junior and 14.9 points as a senior and set 3-point shooting records for a single-game (9) and single-season (75).
