ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose has announced its men’s and women’s basketball schedules for the 2010-11 season. The two teams will play their home games on-campus at the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium.

ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose will induct four former outstanding student-athletes, one of whom happens to be one of the nation’s most successful NCAA Division II basketball coaches, and the 1990 baseball team into its Athletics Hall of Fame during an on-campus ceremony at the Thelma P. Lally School of Education on Saturday, October 23, at 6:00 pm. The induction ceremony will be held as part of the College’s Family Homecoming Weekend celebration.

ALBANY – Two student-athletes from Christ the King high school have signed national letters of intent indicating their plan to participate for The College of Saint Rose men’s basketball team this upcoming season.

ALBANY – Garth Joseph, one of the most popular players to ever don a uniform for The College of Saint Rose, led his native Dominica to a bronze medal at the Windward Islands Basketball Tournament last week in Grenada. He recorded 42 points and a tournament-high 34 rebounds for Dominica, which finished 2-1 with victories against Grenada and St. Lucia.

ALBANY – Brian Beaury will have his already extraordinary resume further bolstered by his induction into the New York State Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame. The induction will take place at 11:00 am this Saturday, March 27 in the Heritage Hall of the Glens Falls Civic Center. He will be one of eight coaches being inducted Saturday and will join such iconic figures as Jim Boeheim, Lou Carnesecca, and Nat Holman who have previously been enshrined.

ALBANY – The College of Saint Rose men’s basketball team allowed a 12-point, second half lead to slip away as 11th seed Southern New Hampshire pulled off an 84-77 victory over the sixth seeded Golden Knights in a first round game of the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament this afternoon. It marks the second year in a row the Penmen (15-13) defeated Saint Rose in the opening round of tournament play after taking a 62-57 triumph in Manchester, NH last February.

ALBANY – Two of the most pleasant surprises in the Northeast-10 Conference will be home this weekend as The College of Saint Rose will host first round conference tournament games on Saturday and Sunday. The men’s squad will meet Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, while the women’s team will welcome Merrimack College to the Daniel P. Nolan Gymnasium on Sunday.
Tip-off for both games is 1:00 pm. Tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for children and seniors, $1 for students from other NE-10 institutions, and are free for anyone who holds a Saint Rose ID.

SYRACUSE – The College of Saint Rose men’s basketball team had its season-long six-game win streak come to a halt in an 87-83 loss at Le Moyne College this evening in what amounted to the regular-season finale for both squads. The Golden Knights (16-11/13-9 NE-10) tied their season-high with 11, 3-pointers, but the Dolphins (18-9/14-8 NE-10) outscored Saint Rose 22-12 from the foul line to earn a first round bye as the fourth seed in the upcoming league tournament.
